Ohio Valley Goodwill Hosts 2016 CARF Accreditation Celebration Party!

Rio 2016 logoWith an Olympics theme and live music to highlight the occasion, Ohio Valley Goodwill’s corporate headquarters will be the host location for the first in a series of 2016 Accreditation celebrations on Thursday, June 23rd! The 2016 celebration event marks the 5th consecutive perfect survey outcome that the organization has received from the international accreditation body referred to as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities or CARF. This most recent survey outcome places Ohio Valley Goodwill in a category of distinction that is unparalleled in accreditation standards. Goodwill had previously received four perfect Three Year Accreditation surveys, resulting in zero recommendations; placing it in the top 3% of similar organizations nationally. The 2016 survey took place from March 2nd through March 4th and was a review of Goodwill’s comprehensive employment and training services as well as its Veterans program.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of persons served. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable. CARF International knows of no other organization world-wide, which has accomplished this five-star level of accreditation. five-star-carf-survey

As one of the largest providers of vocational training and job placement services in Southwestern Ohio, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries has a long history of excellence in the quality of services it provides to the citizens of Greater Cincinnati. Annually, Goodwill serves more than 3000 men and women with disabilities and our nation’s veterans and this year is celebrating its 100th anniversary of service. This year’s CARF Accreditation Distinction celebration will mark not only the 5th consecutive perfect survey outcome but also, the organization’s 100th anniversary of service in the Greater Cincinnati community. “Ohio Valley Goodwill could not be more pleased with our most recent CARF accreditation survey outcome and want to take the opportunity to thank our staff team for their outstanding efforts to attain this level of excellence,” said Joe Byrum, President and CEO.

The initial celebration on June 23rd will be followed by a series of CARF celebration events taking place at all of the organization’s satellite locations over the next two weeks. “We want to make sure that everyone on the Goodwill team- staff, program participants, members of our board of directors, volunteers and friends- all know that we very much appreciate their contributions to making our services exceptional,” said George Palmer, Marketing Director.
