STEP 2

We sort and prepare your donation.

Goodwill employees sort through your items, separating what can be sold in stores from what can be sent to one of our recycling partners.

STEP 3

Items are sold in our stores.

85 cents of every dollar spent with Goodwill is reinvested into meeting the needs of our community.

STEP 4

Items not fit for sale are responsibly recycled.

Select items, such as e-waste, books, bicycles, shoes, and some clothing, are responsibly recycled through our local recycling partners.

Give more. Save more.

When you donate, your gift may be tax-deductible. We’ll provide a receipt at drop-off to help determine the value with the IRS Donation Value Guide.

What if I need to have my donation picked up?

You can absolutely have your donation picked up. Ohio Valley Goodwill partners with two different organizations for donation pickup: College Hunks and ReSupply

  • College Hunks charges a fee based on the overall amount of items being collected. This service includes additional benefits, such as the removal of items from anywhere inside your property to be taken to Goodwill, as well as the removal of items Goodwill cannot accept. Donors will receive a discount off the regular pricing when they mention Goodwill, and your donation is still tax-deductible. Call 1-800-825-7819 to schedule your pick-up today.
  • ReSupply is a veteran owned and operated software and logistics company. Donors pay a small fee and can book pickup using the “Donation Pickup” option within the Goodwill phone system, or by visiting the ReSupply site. ReSupply’s system will automatically email the donor an electronic tax receipt.
