#1: Create an at-home movie theater

Make your next family movie night extra special by setting up an at-home ” movie theater” in your living room! Here are a few creative ways to make the experience memorable for everyone:
- Hang a sign – Announce the title and time of what’s Now Showing
- Set up a ticket booth – Kids will love paying for ” tickets” with play money!
- Get cozy – Pick out coordinating pajamas from Goodwill and cuddle up with cozy blankets and pillows.
- Serve snacks – Arrange classic movie snacks (candy, popcorn, soda) on a tray and let everyone pick their favorites!
#2: Make chores fun

Keep kids occupied (and your home tidy) with a chore scavenger hunt! Write clues and riddles that lead to different locations around your house. After they solve each clue, have your kids complete a basic household chore like taking out the garbage, dusting, or sorting clothes to donate to Goodwill. Many kids are happy to do chores if it means they could win a prize! For the final clue, lead your chore helpers to a ” treasure chest” with small toys and trinkets from Goodwill as a reward.
#3: Build a no-snow snowman
How do you build a snowman when it’s not snowing? You build a no-snow snowman instead! Try making snowmen out of other materials such as marshmallows, pom-poms, yarn, or modeling clay. Your kids are sure to have a blast decorating their creations even if there’s no actual snow involved!
#4: Play games and puzzles
There’s nothing better than gathering your family around the table for a night of competitive fun. Shop at Goodwill for classic board games and puzzles to stock your game cabinet. First, pick a spot in your home, whether it’s your child’s room, playroom, or a corner of the living room. Make the space feel warm and inviting with comfortable pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, and a lamp for extra reading light. Lastly, fill up your bookshelves for less at Goodwill!
