Tidy Up with Help From Goodwill

Step #1: Clear out the clutter

There’s no better feeling than when your home clean and organized. Start by walking into each room of your home and removing excess clutter that you no longer use or need. Then, gather up the items that you want to donate in a cardboard box, bag, or plastic bin. It’s an easy way to simplify your living space and pass along reusable items to someone else who can give them a new life.

Step #2: Double check your donations

Before you take your items to Goodwill, double check to make sure you don’t accidentally donate something you planned to keep. When boxing up your donations, try to keep similar items together and label fragile items to prevent damage during transit. Finally, keep in mind that while Ohio Valley Goodwill gladly accepts most donations of gently used clothing, household goods, and even vehicles, there are some items that we cannot accept for safety reasons. Step #3: Bring your donations to Goodwill

This last step is simple and easy! Just bring your donations to any of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s convenient donation drop-off locations. Our friendly staff will collect your goods and you’ll receive a receipt for donating. Find your nearest donation site to plan your trip.

Bring Good Home

When you give from your heart and donate to Goodwill this Valentine’s Day, you become a job creator and make a significant impact in your local community. After you drop off your donations, we will put them to good use by reselling them in our Goodwill retail stores or online at shopgoodwill.com. Then, when someone buys your items, we use the money raised to fund job skills training programs and employment services for individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans. Each year, thousands of lives are changed through the opportunities provided by Goodwill’s programs and services.
