Wednesday, October 7th marked the beginning of a series of rehearsals in preparation for the 2009 What Matters Most Fashion Show, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 28th at the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center. A primary sponsor for the premiere event, Ohio Valley Goodwill is providing the boutique fashions that 20 of the models will be wearing. “We are so excited about this unique and inspiring fashion show event designed to showcase the ambition and ability of all people with disabilities,” said Sharon Hannon, Marketing Specialist.
The Community Ambassadors Resource Alliance (CARA) is sponsoring the “What Matters Most” Fashion Show as not only a fund-raiser for People for MRDD Services but also, as a vehicle to showcase the talents of the individuals supported by the Hamilton County Board of MR/DD. The fashion event will also serve as the debut of talented designer, Nikki Martin, who will provide 10 of the couture outfits featured in the show.
Ohio Valley Goodwill and the CARA group are grateful to the many vendors in the Greater Cincinnati community who are sponsoring the premiere event including ChristopherMarcus Salon, Carey Digital Printing, Megan Gordon, MAC Productions, Peter Gregory Florist and many, many others. “We have been overwhelmed with the support that we have received from not only our CARA partners but also, the many sponsors in the Greater Cincinnati area,” said Kate Hawkins, CARA chairperson.
