Tuesday, December 17th marked the celebration of the holiday season at Ohio Valley Goodwill’s corporate headquarters in festive fashion with a delicious luncheon event for all its program participants and staff team members. Sponsored by the organization’s volunteer Service Guild and Food Services team under the direction of Chef Francisco Lopez, the annual holiday luncheon was made even more noteworthy this year, by the occasion of the Goodwill’s 103rd anniversary of service. ” The Service Guild is so pleased that we are able to sponsor this wonderful holiday party every December and to have the opportunity to spend time together during this important time of year,” said Sue Burreson, Service Guild President and “2020 Charitable All Star.” Burreson received the well-deserved honor from Cincy Magazine and of course, credited the all volunteer Service Guild for her success and positive impact on the individuals served by Goodwill.

The holiday luncheon featured a choice of penne pasta with Italian sausage or chicken and broccoli Alfredo along with a vegetarian option with salad and dessert. The assembled guests also enjoyed the entertainment provided by local musician and long-time Goodwill volunteer, Mark Macomber. More than 300 individuals participated in this year’s holiday luncheon event which is always highlighted by the singing and dancing of attendees as they joyfully sing along to their favorite Christmas carols. The assembled guests also enjoyed the debut of this year’s holiday video presented by Public Information Officer, Michael Flannery which features a number of program participants and staff team members.

Held in the organization’s headquarters cafeteria and adjacent meeting rooms, the luncheon is prepared by Goodwill’s Food Services team and volunteers who work very hard to make sure that the meal is enjoyed by everyone in attendance.

Ohio Valley Goodwill and its team members enjoy the festive holiday luncheon event every year and are grateful to the organization’s volunteer Service Guild, the Food Services team and Chef Francisco Lopez for their hard work and generous sponsorship. The annual event also helps to set the tone for the beginning of a new year of service to the Greater Cincinnati community as the organization moves into 2020.
