"Ohio Valley Goodwill's Retail Store Featured on Local 12 News!"

L to R: Local 12 reporter
Lauren Bercarich interviewing
Ann Walters, Goodwill Retail Manager.

Monday, July 6th was a news-making day for Goodwill’s Fairfield store location. Local 12 reporter Lauren Bercarich came out to do a story about the recent increase in the number of shoppers that Goodwill is seeing in its 14 Greater Cincinnati store locations. Retail Manager, Ann Walters, met with Lauren for more than an hour, explaining not only the increase in shoppers but how customers  impact the organization’s mission of putting people to work. During the interview, Walters indicated that Goodwill serves more than 26oo individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans each year and that proceeds made from the items donated to the organization, help in large part to fund that mission . The pair took a guided tour of not only the very large retail floor space offered by Goodwill’s Fairfield store location but also of the convenient drive-thru donation area. The reporter was fascinated to learn that Goodwill stores operate in very much the same way that other large retail stores function but unlike other retailers are actually experiencing an increase in shoppers in the present economy. Walters also explained that while contributions are just beginning   to increase, Goodwill is still in urgent need of donations. The story will be featured on the morning news on Local 12 in the coming weeks. Ohio Valley Goodwill appreciates Local 12’s interest in its retail operations and its very important mission of putting people to work.
