Ohio Valley Goodwill Welcomes New Board Members

2018 marked the addition of two new members to the organization’s Board of Directors; Mr. Vada Hill and Mr. Shane Satterfield.  

Vada Hill

Vada HillVada Hill is a creative and versatile marketing leader with a track record of successes across the financial services, restaurant, packaged goods and political arenas.   He is a mission driven executive with a passion for improving the lives of underserved consumers.

Upon his 2016 return to his hometown of Cincinnati, Vada has partnered with the CEO’s of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital; Southwest Ohio’s Regional Transit Authority (SORTA); and 84.51 to enhance their strategic and marketing efforts.   He is a member of Red Robin Restaurant’s Innovation Advisory boards and is also a director of First Investors Financial Services, a Houston based auto finance company devoted to the needs of credit challenged consumers.   Vada was a long time member of the Advisory Board of Procter & Gamble’s Agile Pursuits Franchise, Inc., launching such businesses as Tide Dry Cleaners and Mr. Clean Car Wash. He also served as Vice Chair of the board of Darkness to Light, a Charleston, SC based non-profit focused on preventing child sexual abuse.

Vada has a distinguished marketing career having served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service; the Fannie Mae Corporation; and Taco Bell.   As Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer, Vada and his team launched such transformational menu initiatives as Gorditas and Chalupas leveraged by the nationally renowned ” Yo Quiero Taco Bell” Chihuahua advertising campaign.   Vada was born and raised in Walnut Hills and is a graduate of Walnut Hills High School and Harvard University.   Named after Cincinnati Reds baseball player, Vada Pinson, he is now a member of one of the team’s 20 ownership groups.

Shane Satterfield:  

Shane SatterfieldThe newest member of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Board of Directors is Shane Michael Satterfield. Shane is a retired U.S. Marine due to injuries sustained in combat during the Persian Gulf War (Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm) and past Veterans Services (Veterans Dormitory Manager/Instructor) team member for Goodwill.   Shane initially came to Goodwill as recipient of services through the organization’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP).

Shane has an impressive career background which began with his work with children with behavioral challenges through Cincinnati Public Schools. Following his tenure with CPS, Shane then went on to work with the Hamilton County Community Action Agency (Reach Back Youth Program) and the United States Postal Service. After this experience, Shane decided that he wanted to pursue his academic career and enrolled at the University of Cincinnati (UC), and began studying Criminal Justice. Later, Shane obtained   a second Bachelor’s degree and then finally, completed his Master’s in Social Work (Concentration in Mental Health). Shane is licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Social Worker and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III and is employed at the Christ Hospital Health Network.

 Shane enjoys participation in a host of civic activities, working out, being an ordained minister, and mentoring youth around the Greater Cincinnati area.
