Ohio Valley Goodwill Participates in Community Outreach Event

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries was pleased to be a participant in the Village of Woodlawn’s Business Day “Meet and Greet” and its monthly Music Series on the evening of Thursday, August 29, 2013. The two tiered event offered business organizations headquartered within the Village of Woodlawn the opportunity to reach out to community members attending the event and offered the participating businesses a chance to set-up displays and distribute information about their organizations. Ohio Valley Goodwill, a long-standing Woodlawn Chamber member participated in the event and showcased information about its mission, services, and programs. “The event offered a unique opportunity for Goodwill to reach out to the local community and help residents to learn more about the services that Ohio Valley Goodwill provides right here in their own community,” said George Palmer, Goodwill’s Director of Public Relations and Marketing. Palmer also serves on the board of the Woodlawn Chamber and has worked closely with the Village of Woodlawn, the Village offices and the Mayor’s office as well. “We appreciate the close working relationship that we have with the local community and its residents as well as the services that the Village offers as it helps to make our operations run smoothly,” said Palmer. In addition to Goodwill, participating business included: Brown Mackie College, Pro Source, Cincy Apparel, Speedy Signs, General Advertising Products, Incredible Delights Catering, Four Seasons Travel, Little Caesars Pizza, and the Village of Woodlawn Rec Center. More than 250 Woodlawn residents visited with the businesses at the event and were able to take away information from the exhibitors. Ohio Valley Goodwill has been a participant in past Woodlawn Chamber events that have worked to promote the Village of Woodlawn and showcase business opportunities in the community. “We always appreciate the chance to promote the mission of Goodwill to the local community and to help make people more aware of the programs that Ohio Valley Goodwill provides for people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans,” said Palmer. Goodwill thanks the Village of Woodlawn for extending the opportunity to reach out to its community!
