"Ohio Valley Goodwill Celebrates 1st Annual "Dancing with the Stars" Gala with BCBDD!"

Ohio Valley Goodwill was delighted to be a sponsor for and participant in the first-ever “Dancing with the Stars” Gala in support of partner agency, the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities , (BCBDD). Held on Saturday, November 12th at Receptions in Fairfield, the premiere Dancing Gala featured 9 local celebrity couples including BCBDD team members Dennis Burger and Mary May; Butler County Commissioner Cindy Carpenter and Friends President Andy Germann; Senator Bill Coley and wife Carolyn; Caregivers for Independence Director Jamie Couch and Margery Best; Mike and Sue Gilkey; Gilkey Windows; Hamilton City Councilwoman Carla Fiehrer and husband Larry; InsideOut Studio Curator Suzanne Fisher and Todd Colvalcine; Miami University Athletics Coach Amanda Buchholz and Mike Berding; Berding Appraisals and Matandy Steel General Manager Matt Pfirman and wife Nicole.Hosted by Master of Ceremonies Bob Herzog, WKRC Channel 12; the first-ever Gala was sold out with more than 280 excited attendees. The celebrity couples treated the audience to a variety of dance routines that ranged from 50’s-inspired jive to formal Argentine tangos. The evening was made even more memorable by the featured performances of special guest dancers representing the A’Marika Dance Studio; sponsor of the dancing lessons for the celebrity couples. Ohio Valley Goodwill sponsored a table for 10 guests and was involved in the planning of the special event which was both an entertainment and financial success. “Goodwill is always delighted to support the Butler County Board of DD and the individuals that we mutually serve,” said Steve Koons, Rehabilitation Director. The 2011 Dancing with the Stars Gala raised more than $20,000 in proceeds which will be used for an upcoming Levy campaign in support of the Board’s services for individuals with Developmental Disabilities in Butler County.
