“New Richmond Cares” Donation Drive in Support of Goodwill Set for August 20th!

River Days HeaderThe annual RiverDays Festival is coming up August 19th through 21st and for the first time, Ohio Valley Goodwill will be part of the historic annual party. The first-time ever community donation drive called “New Richmond Cares” will be taking place on Saturday, August 20th from 10:30 am until 5:30 pm and donations will be gratefully accepted at the Goodwill donation drive located at Front and Walnut Streets. The RiverDays Festival is held in New Richmond, Ohio and this year’s RiverDays Festival is being billed as being the best one ever!

In addition, to the infamous Cardboard Boat Regatta, this year’s event will feature live music, a parade and fireworks! Event organizers had learned that Ohio Valley Goodwill was celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and decided to select the organization as the chosen charity for donation drive called ” New Richmond Cares.” City of New Richmond planning team members explained that they were very impressed to learn about Goodwill’s century long commitment to helping people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans to get jobs in the Greater Cincinnati community and thought the “New Richmond Cares” donation event would be a fitting way to recognize the anniversary.

New Richmond has quite a history and the Riverdays Festival is designed to help the community and its neighbors celebrate that rich heritage. Founded on the banks of the Ohio River in September of 1814 by Revolutionary War hero Jacob Light, New Richmond is proud of its heritage and connection to the mighty waterway that defines the village’s contemporary and historic existence. With its magnificent site on the Ohio River, New Richmond soon became a center of commerce. Steamboats were manufactured here and the town became a major terminus during the steamboat era, discharging and taking on passengers and freight. All of Clermont County brought their produce to New Richmond for shipping resulting in the county to be referred to as ” Cincinnati’s garden”. Still a must-see destination for tourists, history buffs and music lovers with its many clubs and eateries along the scenic Ohio river, New Richmond will be the best place to be August 19th-21st.
