Goodwill's Michael Flannery Provokes Grins in Support of Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services!

Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Public Information Officer, Michael Flannery, spent Friday, November 15th and Monday, November 18th performing double-duty during two different fund-raising events in support of Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services (HCDDS). Flannery served as the official Auctioneer for the 2013 Paddle Auction in support of People for DD Services as well as a Celebrity Waiter during the Celebrity Waiter Dinner held at LaRosa’s in Cheviot. The long-time comedian and media personality was in top form as he provoked grins and contributions from the assembled bidders at the 2013 Paddle Auction held on Friday, November 15th at the UCP headquarters located in Norwood. The eager participants bid on everything from restaurant gift cards to sports memorabilia and enjoyed Flannery’s wisecracks throughout the evening. The Paddle Auction was then followed by a Celebrity Waiter event held at LaRosa’s in Cheviot on Monday, November 18th and Flannery was again in high spirits as hundreds of HCDDS friends and supporters clustered around the overflowing buffet table that was one of the highlights of this event. Other celebrity waiters included honorary host, Teddy Kremer, (the Reds Bat Boy), as well as Bob the Producer (WEBN), Steve Caniniti, (Comedian), Dr. O’Dell Owens, Louis Breeden, (Bengal Alumni), Joe Schoenfeld, (Elder Coach), Michael DeFrancesco, (Treasurer People for DD Services), as well as mascots from the Reds and UC. The standing room only event was filled with well-wishers and supporters who were entertained by musician, Ed Milano, also a Goodwill team member. Guests enjoyed the lively evening which was filled not only with good food and entertainment but also the opportunity to connect with old friends and Board supporters. “We are so pleased that so many of the individuals we support as well as members of the agencies we partner with were able to be part of these important fund-raising events,” said Jenny Dexter, Community Relations Director, HCDDS. Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to support long-time Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services as they prepare for their upcoming Levy Campaign which will be on the ballot in May 2014. Goodwill serves more than 600 individuals in partnership with the Board through its many skill training, job placement and personal enrichment programs.
