Goodwill Offers Remote Services in Response to COVID-19

As the response to the current pandemic became more focused on the importance of social distancing, Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Employment Services team expanded their capabilities to offer remote services. These services assist individuals in the job search and development process but do so remotely. This alternative option for service delivery ensures the health and safety of job-seekers as well as Employment Specialists who work directly with individuals served. “Our Goodwill Employment Services team is very dedicated to helping people to find job opportunities which fulfills their goals but at the same time, we realized that we needed to be able to provide an option which allowed everyone to feel safe,” said Mark Leugers, Employment Services Manager.

Remote Services Assistance includes:

  1. Working on mock interview skills
  2. Helping to fill out applications online
  3. Talking about proper interview clothes
  4. Instruction and tips on how to interview for a job today; telephone interview on how to address employment goals as well as reasonable accommodations
  5. How to follow up after an interview, thank you letters, follow up phone calls
  6. Job development- talking with employers, managers, individuals on employment goals
