GOOD news! Ohio Valley Goodwill is excited to announce that Beyoncé is lending her voice to help Goodwill ® transform lives for GOOD during her second North American leg of the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. Goodwill and Beyoncé will encourage fans and concert attendees to #BeyGOOD this holiday season and support Goodwill’s job training and community-based services that reduce unemployment and help people care for themselves and their families.

” I am excited to team up once again with Goodwill in supporting their efforts in finding and creating jobs for families in need,” said Beyoncé.

The unemployment rate for Americans ages 16 ““ 24 currently stands at 16.2 percent, more than double the national unemployment rate, which means young people stand to lose a staggering $20 billion in earnings over the next decade. At Goodwill, we know that a job offers so much more than a paycheck. It offers security, dignity and purpose. Goodwill provides training, education, on-the-job experience, career opportunities and a host of additional support services through the revenue earned from the sale of donated goods in stores and online. Goodwill helps build strong families and communities by empowering people to work toward achieving the maximum level of productivity in their personal and professional lives.

Beyoncé knows the power of hard work and will encourage her fans to support Goodwill’s efforts by promoting donation drives during her North American concerts beginning Friday, November 30. On December 12, in Louisville, Kentucky, fans can participate in Goodwill’s #BeyGOOD initiative in two ways. Ticket holders can donate to Goodwill and bring their donation receipt to the concert, or they can bring donations to the concert and look for the Goodwill donation bins to deposit their items. The first 100 ticket holders with donation receipts or donations who arrive between 7 and 8 p.m. will receive stickers that qualify them for a chance to be upgraded to the BeyStage or BeyHive VIP areas. The number of available upgrades in each market will be determined the day of the show. Additionally, two people will each receive two concert tickets from Goodwill Industries of Kentucky. Simply like their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/goodwillky) by 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 10 to be eligible (sweepstakes rules apply; see http://www.goodwillky.org/2013/beygood-with-beyonce-and-goodwill-sweepstakes for more information).
