Achieving Independence for All: Goodwill Celebrates the 4th of July

At Ohio Valley Goodwill, Independence Day is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate. Why? Because it’s a time to reflect on our freedom and honor the veterans who have sacrificed so much for that freedom. Our mission at Goodwill is to help individuals achieve independence through the power of work, and that includes our local veterans. Through our training programs and job placement services, we help veterans and individuals with disabilities find employment that makes a lasting, positive impact on their lives. Recognizing that a job is about more than a paycheck, we’re committed to connecting our neighbors in need with meaningful employment opportunities that bring them fulfillment, happiness, self-confidence, and independence.

Services for Homeless Veterans

Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to participate in Cincinnati’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Projects (HVRP). Assistance is available for career planning, job placement, and finding housing. Residential programs, counseling, food, clothing and monetary assistance are available for those who qualify. Funders for Homeless Veterans programs include the Department of Labor and the Veterans Administration.

All services include:

  • A comprehensive individual needs assessment
  • A personalized plan that will address the veteran’s employment history and needs
  • A case manager who will assist the veteran with job development and placement
  • Assistance in locating safe and affordable housing

If you are a homeless veteran or know of a veteran experiencing homelessness and would like additional information about Goodwill’s homeless services for veterans, please call (513) 631-4500.

Employment and training services for individuals with disabilities.

In addition to providing services to veterans, Ohio Valley Goodwill offers a variety of life-enriching opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Our employment and training programs were designed to help individuals with disabilities seeking community employment find personal fulfillment and obtain vocational success, which promotes a greater sense of independence. With career development services, job development placement services, and work site support services, Ohio Valley Goodwill allows individuals the opportunity to gain the majority of needed services all in one organization.
