Ohio Valley Goodwill is Proud of Services for Military Veterans as We Celebrate Independence Day Holiday!

In the Greater Cincinnati area, Ohio Valley Goodwill has helped thousands of veterans, build their civilian careers. Locally, in 2017, Ohio Valley Goodwill served almost 900 veterans. Since the early 1990′s, the organization has helped more than 10,000 veterans to receive assistance with transitional and permanent housing, skill training, job placement assistance as well as case management support. “We are very proud of the quality services that we have been providing for the past twenty-six years for the hundreds of men and women that we have served at Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries,” said Charlie Blythe, Goodwill’s Grants Director.

Goodwill is proud to participate in Cincinnati’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Projects (HVRP) and the VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF). Assistance is available for career planning, job placement, and finding housing. Residential programs, counseling, food, clothing and monetary assistance are available for those who qualify. Funders for Homeless Veterans programs include the Department of Labor and the Veterans Administration.

All services include:

  • A comprehensive individual needs assessment
  • A personalized plan that will address the veteran’s employment history and needs
  • A case manager who will assist the veteran with job development and placement
  • Assistance in locating safe and affordable housing

“As we near the celebration of the 4th of July holiday and the anniversary of our nation’s independence, it is fitting that we also honor and recognize all that our veterans do to keep our country safe and free,” said Joseph Byrum, President and CEO of Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries.
