The morning of December 1st marked the official installation of new officers for Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Volunteer Service Guild. The volunteer group which has celebrated more than 80 years of service to the organization, has two primary missions- sharing the story of Goodwill with the larger community and helping to raise funds to support its mission of putting people to work. The Goodwill Service Guild hosts special holiday events throughout the year for both the employees and program participants of the organization and operates the Treasure Island Gift Shop within the organization’s Tri-County Goodwill store.
The December new officer installation ceremony is always held at the end of the year so that the Guild is ready to plan its activities for the New Year starting in January 2017. The organization plans and hosts the Spring and Fall Mini-Fests as well as special bus trips throughout the year in addition to its operations of the Treasure Island shop. Guild President, Sue Burreson, along with her dedicated volunteer team work hard to support the 100 Year old mission of Goodwill- helping people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans to get jobs in the community. “This year has been a particularly remarkable year for the Service Guild in partnership with Ohio Valley Goodwill as the organization officially marked its 100th Anniversary of service in the Greater Cincinnati community,” said Sue Burreson, Guild President.
