HUD Funded Housing Services

Ohio Valley Goodwill works with several Housing and Urban Development programs. Temporary housing assistance is available through HUD’s Rapid Re-housing projects. Assistance is also available to assist homeless persons with disabilities in finding permanent housing.

Rapid Re-housing Services

Goodwill Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Assistance funding offers short-term rental assistance through two re-housing grants for homeless individuals who meet HUD’s definition of “homeless,” and who have obtained valid homeless certification from the Greater Cincinnati and Hamilton County Continuum of Care.

The primary purpose of the Hamilton County’s Rapid Re-housing Assistance Project is to aid eligible individuals in obtaining safe and affordable housing.

The following services are provided under the Rapid Re-housing project:

  • Assessment of individual’s housing needs, preferences, and ability to afford housing.
  • Individually focused money and time management training, community living training, health care training, problem-solving instruction, home maintenance training, home safety lessons and nutritional guidance.
  • Identification and assistance contacting other needed community services.
  • Limited financial help with rent and utilities for eligible individuals.
