Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to share the story of Ms. Sally Castillo. Sally’s story is particularly meaningful because it reflects her personal determination during the pandemic and how she was able to overcome a major setback in her employment journey.
Sally was previously employed in the community and happily working each day. Due to the forced closure of numerous businesses in response to the pandemic, thousands of people including Sally were suddenly laid off without warning. Fortunately, Sally was able to receive help from Goodwill’s Employment Services team; a service funded through Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. Sally’s current story of success reflects the support of her Goodwill Employment Specialist Justin Marrow, who assisted her with job development, the job interview as well as the orientation process. Justin provided the support Sally needed to get back on her feet after being abruptly laid off as a result of the pandemic. Justin’s on-site and consistent encouragement helped Sally to quickly learn her new responsibilities and feel confident in her new position.
As you can see from her video story below, Sally is happy with her new job and glad to be working again.
When she is not working, Sally enjoys going out to parks with her friends, shopping at the mall and going to movies. Sally is an avid reader and loves to watch movies online as well as surf the internet. Her ultimate employment goal is to become a Vet Tech.
Ohio Valley Goodwill congratulates Ms. Sally Castillo on her employment success and thanks her for her willingness to share her important story of determination and achievement.
