The 2015 PigAbilities Training begins on Saturday, March 21st at Mirror Lake in Eden Park at 10:00 am and “Team Goodwill” is ready to kick off this year’s training effort! PigAbilities training is a five week training event to help athletes prepare to participate in the annual Flying Pig Marathon on Saturday, May 2nd. Ohio Valley Goodwill has been a founding member of the CARA-sponsored event since its inception and looks forward to the opportunity to launch this year’s training event on Saturday, March 21st.
PigAbilities offers support and encouragement for people with disabilities of all ages who want to successfully walk, run or wheel in a marathon event. To help people set/achieve their own personal distance goals The CARA Group provides a free five week training program prior to the PigAbilities event on May 2. Training with others is motivating and inspiring – plus it includes topics such as wellness, good nutrition and the benefits of physical activity. PigAbilities training also provides peer support from active volunteers.
On Saturday, May 2 all PigAbilities participants will gather for the 1:00 start time to complete their final mile and receive their PigAbilities medal at the Flying Pig Marathon Finish Line.
Everyone is welcome to train with The CARA Group! Training will be hosted at two outdoor locations this year.
