"Ohio Valley Goodwill Honors Our Nation's Heroes, Our Military Veterans!"

The yearly traditional celebration of Veterans Day and the  honoring of our nation’s military heroes, is a daily event at Ohio Valley Goodwill. Since the early 1990’s, through the organization’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program, Goodwill has helped thousands of military veterans to obtain employment and secure
permanant housing in the community. This Veteran’s Day, Ohio Valley Goodwill wishes to emphasize its on-going commitment to supporting the needs of our country’s military veterans. Goodwill’s efforts include skill training, job placement, and on-going case management support as well as assistance with obtaining desperately needed affordable housing.

This Veteran’s Day, please think about the fact that in 2010, more than 20 million men and women in the United States over the age of 18 were veterans. A significant percentage of these veterans are dealing with challenges including physical disabilities such as traumatic brain injury, psychological disabilities such as post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, homelessness, long waits for benefits and now declining federal dollars set aside for needed supports. The good news is Goodwill is ready to help. Ohio Valley Goodwill Veterans Services team has earned a well-deserved reputation for putting together the funding and resources that our military veterans so urgently need. Working in partnership with the Veterans Administration, Ohio Valley Goodwill can provide a variety of services including transitional and permanant  housing, employment assistance, benefits advocacy and long-term case management support.
