Ohio Valley Goodwill Gears Up for Summer Events!

CARA Fit and Fun Walk!

CARA Fit and Fun Walk!

Now that summer is here, Ohio Valley Goodwill is ready to celebrate with everyone in the Greater Cincinnati community. It’s easy for everyone to be part of the fun as the organization prepares to be part of the 2014 CARA “Fit and Fun Walk” at Friendship Park on Saturday, June 7th and the Goodwill Celebrity Golf Outing on Thursday, June 19th! The first-ever “Fit and Fun Walk” is a family-friendly, FREE event featuring live music by local musician and CARA friend, Mark Macomber and the debut of the CRS Drum Line, kicking off at 10:00 am on Saturday morning. In addition participants can find out all about fitness and CARA’s mission to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities. A host of spectacular raffle baskets will be on display and attendees can purchase a chance to win a Brand New Bike as well as a $100 gift card to P.F. Chang’s. To find more about the CARA event, please visit www.caragroup.org or just plan to show up on June 7th at Friendship Park. Other highlights of this year’s event will include the recognition of CARA “Champions”- individuals that have supported the CARA group since its beginnings in 2004. Ohio Valley Goodwill will be recognized as a CARA Champion through the support of its representative, Sharon Hannon, Marketing Specialist.   Golf logo 2014On Thursday, June 19th, the 14th annual Goodwill Celebrity Golf Outing will be taking place at the beautiful Glenview Golf Club and believe it or not, there’s still time to be part of this year’s event. You can register to play at www.cincinnatigoodwill.org/events. If you can’t make the outing, you can always support Goodwill’s mission of service by purchasing a chance to win our $1500 Grand Prize at any Goodwill store location. For a complete list of store locations, visit www.goodwillbargains.com. The annual Goodwill Celebrity Golf Outing is hosted by celebrity chairman, Joe Walter, and will welcome a host of his celebrity friends as well as long-time supporters and friends of the organization. This year, Goodwill will welcome the support of volunteers from partner agency, Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, as hole-in-one spotters. In addition, players will be enthusiastically greeted as always by participants in the organization’s award-winning Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education (CARE) program as they arrive for the day. “This year’s event promises to be one of the best ever,” said Joe Walter, Celebrity Chair. “You can still register to play at one of the best courses in town, have a truly fun day and support Goodwill at the same time.” Both of these upcoming summer events help to support Goodwill’s mission of helping individuals with disabilities to achieve personal success. Please plan to join Ohio Valley Goodwill on Saturday, June 7th at Friendship Park and Thursday, June 19th at Glenview Golf Club. Thank you for your on-going support of Ohio Valley Goodwill and our commitment to helping people go to work in our community.
