Ohio Valley Goodwill and its Oakley retail store were delighted to be visited on Wednesday, July 22nd by WNKU-FM reporter, Cheri Lawson as she prepared for her local morning edition feature for National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” program. Ms. Lawson came out to the retail location to interview George Palmer, Goodwill’s Director of Public Relations and Marketing, Ann Walters, Retail Sales Manager and Krysta Ryan, Oakley Store Manager to inquire about recent trends in shopping, donating and customers interests during these tough economic times.
The interview offered the Goodwill team an opportunity to talk about Goodwill’s mission to serve people with disabilities, programs for homeless veterans and other services for individuals with barriers to employment. “It’s always a wonderful chance for us to share our mission with members of the media and to talk about our needs in general. The interview allowed each of us to focus not only on our mission and services, but also on the quality of the products available in our stores and our need for donations,” said George Palmer.
Goodwill is always pleased to have members of the media share stories with the public regarding its programs and services. Listen for the”Morning Edition” report in the next week on WNKU-FM.
Thanks to Ms. Lawson and WNKU-FM for their interest in Ohio Valley Goodwill and our important mission of putting people to work!
