Goodwill Team Assist in Kick-Off for Perfetti Employee Donation Drive
Staff team members from Ohio Valley Goodwill participated in a kick-off event for the Perfetti Company Employee Donation Drive on October 30th. Ohio Valley Goodwill and the Perfetti Candy Company have joined together for an employee donation drive to benefit Goodwill. The Perfetti Company welcomed Joe Walter, Bengal alumni and member of Goodwill’s board of directors, Michael Flannery, Goodwill’s Public Information Officer, and George Palmer, Goodwill’s Director of Public Relations and Marketing for a donation kick-off event at the company’s headquarters in Erlanger, KY. This is the first time that Perfetti and Goodwill have joined together to offer a donation drive for employees of the Northern Kentucky candy company.
In speaking at the kick-off event, both Joe Walter and Michael Flannery stressed the importance of donations and how these items help to support retail stores in Greater Cincinnati. The Perfetti team will be collecting clothing and textile donations the week of December 1st thru 5th at their headquarters. ” Ohio Valley Goodwill always appreciates the efforts of community groups in helping to generate donations which when sold in Goodwill’s retail stores provide over 60% of the income needed to fund vocational training and job support services for men and women with disabilities and homeless veterans. We are pleased that the Perfetti Company has chosen to help support Ohio Valley Goodwill at this critical time of the year” said Joe Walter. Both Michael Flannery and George Palmer added that the end of the year and the approaching winter season is a very important time of the year for clothing and textile donations. ” We always are in need of gently used clothing donations, but these are even more important during the cold winter months,” said Palmer. Goodwill is pleased that the Perfetti Company has chosen to support the organization and looks forward to developing an on-going relationship with the company in the years to come.
