George Palmer, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Director of Public Relations and Marketing, was recently appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Woodlawn Chamber of Commerce. Palmer has been an active member of the chamber for many years serving as Goodwills representative to the community chamber. “I was pleased to be asked to serve in this role and feel that I can also represent the job needs of the individuals that we serve to the many businesses that are a part of the chamber,” said Palmer. Each year, Ohio Valley Goodwill helps more than 2,600 individuals with disabilities, homeless veterans, and others with barriers to employment and helps to put these individuals to work. “I am hoping that my new connection with the Chamber and its affiliation with the larger Regional Chamber will help to assist Goodwill with its job placement needs,” added Palmer. The Woodlawn Chamber is a part of the Regional Commerce Partnership (RCP), which also includes the Chambers of Evendale, Forest Park, Norwood, Reading and Springdale. The RCP group meets several times throughout the year and plans many cooperative programs for the benefit and success of area businesses. The Woodlawn Chamber offers monthly programs of interest for community businesses and strives to assist organizations in the Village of Woodlawn with its economic, development, and networking needs.
