The Anderson Center and ACTV were the host locations for the taping of an interview with Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities Superintendent Dan Ottke and advocate Gail Troxell regarding the mission of the Board and its upcoming levy in March. ACTV host, Mark Macomber interviewed the Clermont County team during a taping of his weekly show, “Dimensions.” The interview will serve as the basis for a video segment that the Clermont County Board team can use during their educational outreach efforts.

Macomber is a long-time volunteer for Ohio Valley Goodwill and was pleased to be able to offer this opportunity for the Clermont County Board of DD to get their story out. Goodwill is on the levy planning committee in support of issue 5 which will be on the ballot in Clermont County on March 15th. Goodwill Marketing Manager, Sharon Hannon, was on hand to document the filming and offer encouragement to new “TV personalities,” Superintendent Ottke and advocate, Gail Troxell.

“We are very grateful to Mark for providing this wonderful opportunity for the Clermont County Board to share their important message about their mission and critical upcoming levy campaign,” said Sharon Hannon, Goodwill Marketing Manager.

CCBDD Logo 2016Superintendent Ottke talked about the overall mission of the board in providing comprehensive services to citizens with developmental disabilities in Clermont County from birth to end of life and the increasing demands of the Board in a time when funding from State and Federal resources are being significantly cut. Ms.Troxell explained her advocacy efforts in support of all citizens with disabilities and urged support of the upcoming levy.
It is important to note the following critical information about the March levy:

  • Replacement of the current.4 and 1 mill levies originally passed in
    1979 and 1980.
  • Provides services to people with severe disabilities.
  • Provides 60% of the agency’s funding.
  • 400 people are currently on the waiting list for services.
  • Vote YES on Issue 5!
  • Ohio Valley Goodwill is pleased that ACTV Dimensions show host, Mark Macomber and the Clermont County Board of DD were able to come together to share the Board’s important story of serving the most vulnerable citizens in our community. Our most sincere thanks to ACTV host Mark Macomber for his invaluable support.
