Goodwill High School Scholar Athletes of the Week Announced!

This week’s Goodwill Scholar Athletes of the Week were just announced by STAR64 and include: Rachel Ernst, Loveland  High School and Corey Shannon, Glen Este High School.

Rachel Ernst  has a GPA of 3.8 and has four years as a started for Loveland Varsity Soccer.  She also plays club soccer in the spring for the Elite Clubs National League.   Rachel has bene named 2nd Team All-ECC in each of her first three years. Rachel volunteers at the Life Food Pantry and is a Certified Lifeguard.  She has also been on the High Honor Roll each year at Loveland.

Corey Shannon  has a GPA of 4.35, ranks #1 in his class and has two years of football, one year of track and field and two years of tennis. He has been president of his class all four years. His community involvement includes being involved in mission trips with First Baptist Church of Glen Este,  DECA Service Opportunities, and YoungLife.

As ” Goodwill Scholar Athletes of the Week,” Rachel and Corey will now be in the consideration for the ” Goodwill Athletic Scholar of the Year.” The selection will be made at the end of the season and the lucky athlete will receive a $5000.00 college scholarship to the college of their choice. This is the second year that Ohio Valley Goodwill and STAR64 have worked together on the Goodwill High School Donation Drive and are excited about this year’s games and athletes.
