Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries
Serving Greater Cincinnati

The Fall Season is Rapidly Approaching and a host of Fall Events are on the Goodwill Horizon!

As Summer begins to wind down, the Fall season is right around the corner with a host of events that Ohio Valley Goodwill is supporting in partnership with its many partners and friends in the Greater Cincinnati community. To kick things off, Ohio Valley Goodwill will be part of the many events commemorating the celebration of National Disability Employment Month in October which includes sponsorship and participation in the 2013 Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services (HCDDS) Provider Fair on October 5th, the 2013 Stand Down event on October 11th in support of our nation’s veterans and the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities (BCBDD) Fall Conference being held at Miami University on October 24th. In addition, Ohio Valley Goodwill will be one of many Goodwill organizations participating in the Fall Ohio Association of Goodwill Industries (OAGI) Conference being held in Toledo this year. The 2013 OAGI Conference is a state-wide learning event which provides Goodwill organizations with state-of-the-art  information about  all professional areas of interest including workforce development and best practices. Another Fall happening that the Goodwill team is very much looking forward to is the 2013 “Dancing for our Stars” event in support of the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities (BCBDD). This year’s major celebration and fund-raiser is being held on Saturday, November 16th at Receptions in Fairfield and  will feature 10 new  celebrity couples including Goodwill’s own, Michael Johnson, Job Coach Supervisor! Michael will spend the next few months practicing his moves and then, will join his other celebrity partners for his dancing debut. Needless to say, the Goodwill team is looking forward to cheering on his debut performance on November 16th. In addition, the beginning of Fall is always marked by Goodwill’s Volunteer Service Guild which will host its annual Mini-Fest on October 4th and 5th at its Tri-County store location. Among other highlights of the activity-filled day are home-baked goods, a huge book and collectible sale and a delicious lunch-time Grill-Out. The Goodwill Guild is celebrating its 80th anniversary of service this year so the Fall Mini-Fest will certainly be a memorable party for the volunteer group. Please join Goodwill in marking your calendars and getting excited about the many upcoming Fall events that will soon be taking place in our community. The best part is everyone can be involved and  participate in  these wonderful celebrations all designed to support people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans.
