Situational Assessments

Situational Assessments are short term, with the number of days determined by each person and their referral source. They are facility based and used to determine a person’s unique strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities and capabilities. The work performed is realistic, often paid and evaluates things such as speed and production, quality of work, work behaviors, interests and aptitudes for the type of work, strengths, and potential barriers, recommendations and implementation of reasonable accommodations and assist the individual and referral source in clarifying the potential job as a possible goal for employment. Potential assessments include, but are not limited to:

  • Production
  • Food Service
  • Clerical
  • Janitorial
  • Dock Work
  • Retail
  • Cashiering

Individuals are typically referred by the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation, the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission and the VRP3/Pathways Projects.
