Hamilton County Community Housing Project (HAMCO)

The Hamilton County Community Housing Project (HAMCO) provides financial assistance to homeless individuals within Hamilton County (but outside of the city of Cincinnati). Services for the HAMCO project are funded through the Hamilton County Community Development Program.

The purpose of HAMCO is to secure affordable housing for single, homeless persons by offering direct housing assistance and ancillary housing supports. HAMCO funds can be used to pay one month's rent and security deposits, as well as costs for needed furniture and household goods, and utility bills. Food and transportation costs may also be covered under the project.

Financial assistance under HAMCO is limited to jurisdictions that participate in the Hamilton County Community Development Program (this excludes the city of Cincinnati, Amberly Village, Evendale, Newtown, Mariemont, Indian Hill, Terrace Park, Delhi and Cheviot).

Goodwill Village Apartments are located at 1550 Banklick Rd., Covington, Kentucky. Goodwill Village is a 32-unit apartment complex featuring 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, specifically designed for persons with disabilities. In order to qualify for Goodwill Village Apartments, the applicant must have a condition that "limits or impedes mobility." This is a HUD-funded housing project and Section 8 assistance is available.
