Services for Youth

Overview

GoodGuides™ Mentoring is…

• A program designed to serve at-risk youth in Northern Kentucky (Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties currently) as well as now in Hamilton County.
• A Youth Services Program
• Part of a national initiative of Goodwill Industries International (GII)
• Funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
• A NEW Service from Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries; one of the largest providers of rehabilitation services in the Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky area!

GoodGuides™ Mentoring is designed to...

• Help youth explore job and career choices
• Support youth in making positive choices
• Divert youth from the juvenile justice system
• Empower youth to become contributing members of their community

GoodGuides™ Purpose is to…

• Engage Today!
• Impact Tomorrow!
• Transform Forever!

Our Youth are...

• Struggling in school
• 12 - 17 year old adolescents
• Hanging around negative peers
• Many who live in single parent homes
• Looking for guidance, support, and a positive role model

Our Mentors are...

• Good listeners
• Encouraging & supportive
• Dependable and committed
• People who truly like adolescents
• Are willing to commit at least one year to transform the future

All of our mentors go through a thorough screening process which includes…

• A written application
• A personal interview
• Providing three personal references
• Attending an orientation and training class
• A criminal history check and Child Protective Services Registry check
