The Work Adjustment Training Program is designed to work with you in creating your own vocational development strategies. Experiencing paid work assignments every day, and working with supportive staff to reach your own personal goals, you will have many opportunities to explore and grow socially, vocationally and personally. Our staff are committed to assisting you in achieving your vocational long-term goals by working with you, and your significant team members, to make your vision of your future come true.
Work Adjustment Training can help you:
- Learn the skills and expectations needed to work independently in the community in a caring and supportive environment.
- Identify your ideal vocational goal.
- Build your self-confidence.
- Develop effective problem solving, communication, and coping skills.
- Improve your relationships with supervisors and coworkers.
What services does Work Adjustment Services Provide?
- A variety of opportunities for you to learn about your work skills by experiencing daily work at the facility and in the community.
- The opportunity to earn money every day for working. Goodwill is committed to providing paid work options for all program participants.
- Assistance with identifying your long-term vocational goals based upon your stated desires for work, and assistance in developing your plan to achieve those goals.
- Assistance in finding a job when you and your team feel ready for this move, and assistance in supporting you while in your job.
- Personal care assistance if you need a bit more assistance to successfully maintain involvement in our training program.
- Door-to-door van service to get you to and from Goodwill, as well as training on how to ride the Metro bus. (Metro's #78 Tri-County arrives at Goodwill at 8:20 each morning and leaves at 3:11 each afternoon.)
Who do we serve?
- We serve individuals who are referred and sponsored by Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
- We also work with local school districts and their students to provide a smooth transition from school to work for the student and family.
