Ohio Valley Goodwill Team Member Honored by South West Ohio Rehabilitation Association!

SWORA #1Ohio Valley Goodwill and its staff team were pleased to participate in the 2013 annual South West Ohio Rehabilitation Association (SWORA) awards event luncheon held on Friday, December 6th at the Clovernook Country Club. The annual Awards Luncheon is held each year to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of rehabilitation. More than 70 people attended this year’s event which celebrates performance in a number of categories including: Outstanding Achievement, Employer of the Year, Rehabilitation Practitioner, Rehabilitation Support Staff, Rehabilitation Manager, Rehabilitation Organization, Advocacy, Rehabilitation Program of the Year and the Tomko Award.

This year, Ohio Valley Goodwill was especially pleased to have its own Assistant Director of Community-Based Services, Aimee Rittner be recognized with the Rehabilitation Manager of the Year Award from SWORA. This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding administration of a service program designed to rehabilitate persons with disabilities. Aimee has been employed at Ohio Valley Goodwill since March, 1996. ” We are so pleased that the SWORA organization has chosen to recognize Aimee for her hard work and dedication to the field of rehabilitation and her commitment to the people that she has served for so many years,” said Steve Koons, Goodwill’s Director of Rehabilitation Services.

Ohio Valley Goodwill was also pleased to present the Tomko Award to Lynn Mark, who recently retired from ODD (Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities ““ formally RSC). Lynn served as a counselor for ODD and worked closely with Ohio Valley Goodwill. The Tomko Award is given annually for  lifetime achievement in the field of   rehabilitation.

Ohio Valley Goodwill congratulates all of the 2013 SWORA Award honorees as well as those in attendance for their important contributions to the rehabilitation field.
