"Ohio Valley Goodwill Participates in Regional Commerce Partnership Event"

Staff members from Ohio Valley Goodwill were pleased to participate in the Wednesday, October 17th Regional Commerce Partnership (RCP) luncheon event held at Raffle’s Catering Center in Evendale. The RCP is a Northern Cincinnati Chamber organization that includes the chamber groups of Evendale, Forest Park, Norwood, Reading, Springdale, and Woodlawn. The featured speaker for the luncheon event was John Matarese, consumer information veteran reporter of WCPO-TV Channel 9 News. John is a two-time Emmy Award winning reporter who keeps viewers updated on the latest consumer information, scam alerts and product recalls on his WCPO-TV News “Don’t Waste Your Money” segments. When John finds a service taking advantage of the public, he’s not afraid to say “Doesn’t that stink!” John’s goal is to help viewers find good values and avoid bad deals, with his signature line; “Don’t Waste Your Money” news programs. During his presentation to the RCP group, John spoke about the many ways that the public can become smart shoppers and avoid shopping pitfalls. “I truly enjoy being able to advise people, and steer them away from the scams and bad deals that any of us can fall victim to. It’s always a pleasure when a viewer says ‘thanks’ for helping them avoid a frustrating problem or find the best product,” said John. Ohio Valley Goodwill has been a participant in the RCP for many years and Goodwill’s Director of PR and Marketing, George Palmer has served on the Board of Directors for the Woodlawn Chamber of Commerce for the past three years and has been active in planning programs and events for the chamber.
