Ohio Valley Goodwill is preparing to welcome a host of interested visitors to its brand new Eastside Rehabilitation Services Center which is located in Batavia in Clermont County. The new Center represents a precedent-setting agreement between Clermont and Hamilton County Boards of DD which now will offer more work options for individuals who reside on the Eastside of Cincinnati. The exciting Open House event is scheduled for Thursday, August 25th from 2:00-5:00 pm and will feature tours, refreshments, a welcoming program, as well as an opportunity to meet all of the members of the Eastside team.
The new Goodwill Center located at 4247 Grissom Drive offers a variety of work training opportunities which are facility and community-based. The Center also offers door-to-door Goodwill van transportation service, assmebly and packaging tasks, as well as an on-site Recreational program. In addition, the Eastside Center offers the opportunity for participants to engage in community-based work experiences at Goodwill’s Beechmont store location.
“We are thrilled about the variety of work options we are able to offer both to Clermont as well as Hamilton County residents that live on the Eastside of Cincinnati,” said Leslie McCurley, Asst. Director of DD Services.
Currently, the new Eastside Vocational Center has 19 participants in its new Batavia location but will be able to serve much more. In addition, the new Beechmont store location offers the opportunity for several more individuals to choose a more community-based option to learn retail merchandizing skills including: display assembly, clothes hanging and pricing, donation processing, customer service skills and more. Goodwill van transportation is available to transport participants directly from their place of residence to the Beechmont store site.
