Our History:

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries has had a long rich history of serving men and women with disabilities. Organized in 1916, by Methodist minister Reverend Richard Scully, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries initially helped to serve a variety of populations including people in poverty, people with disabilities, those in need of vocational training and families who needed Goodwill's services. In the early days Goodwill met its needs in three downtown Cincinnati locations. In the mid-1950's organizational leaders and civic volunteers helped to make a new facility located in Woodlawn, become a reality. This new facility, which is still in use today opened for service in July, 1957.

Ohio Valley Goodwill's prominence in the community and reputation as an outstanding provider of vocational training and placement services continued to grow. Currently, in its on-going effort to meet the expanding service needs of the Greater Cincinnati community, Ohio Valley Goodwill recently completed a whole-facility renovation of its Woodlawn corporate center.

Today, the needs of those seeking service through Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries have changed, but Goodwill's mission to provide quality vocational training for people with disabilities and other disadvantaging situations has remained the same. Goodwill's commitment to putting people to work has remained constant even into this new century of economic change!
