Goodwill Industries International:
Working as a partner with Goodwill Industries International, Ohio Valley Goodwill is a member of a large world-wide network of more than 200 Goodwill organizations helping people in more than 37 nations world-wide. Started in 1902 by the Rev. Edgar Helms in Boston, Massachusetts, Goodwill Industries grew from its humble beginnings 100 years ago to the international human service organization it is today.

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries has received a three-year accreditation from CARF (the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). This is the 11th consecutive three-year accreditation Goodwill has received. This accreditation is an indication of the organization's dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served. The CARF surveyors made no recommendations. This is an extraordinary accomplishment, as only 3 percent of CARF surveys result in no recommendations.

- Leadership of the organization works to ensure the financial health of the organization
- Organization's public relations are exemplary - marketing plan is proactive and keeps Ohio Valley Goodwill ahead of its competition
- Organization is commended for maintaining an assistive technologist who facilitates successful employment outcomes
- Organization is commended for the development and implementation of various opportunities for persons served and their families to gain self-advocacy skills
- Staff members of the CARE program are commended for providing opportunities for persons served to enhance their quality of life
- Staff members display great care and support to help persons served to develop new skills and maintain existing skills and supports
- Ohio Valley Goodwill devotes significant effort toward the development of linkages in the community to enhance community support for persons served in the CARE program
- The CARE program schedules are clearly developed around stated goals and preferences of individuals served
