Vocational Assessment Services

Our mission is to assist you in identifying your vocational strengths and interests, as well as possible supports you may need in order to successfully plan an individual career path that takes full advantage of your talents and interests. Our services can be tailored to your specific needs and can be provided either at our Cincinnati facility in the suburb of Woodlawn, or within community business sites. Assessment services include the following:

Smiling Goodwill faces
  • Facility Based Assessments-- Includes formal aptitude and interest testing, and situational assessments in a variety of work environments available at our Woodlawn location. Examples of situational assessments could include retail, janitorial, food service, clerical, building maintenance/grounds keeping, production, and loading dock opportunities.
  • Community Based Assessments-- Assessments carried out within community sites developed following input from you and your team regarding your desired vocational goal. Assessment sites are located within community businesses, and support at the site is provided to you each day by our knowledgeable staff.
  • Transferable Skills Analysis-- Assesses the skills you already possess and matches those skills with potential occupations in the local labor market.
  • Mobile Evaluations-- Assessments using standardized tests, such as aptitude and interest tests, that are carried out at a location in the community that may be more convenient for you than our Cincinnati facility.

These assessment services, and more, are available in order to help you to clearly plan the next step in the pursuit of your desired career. In addition to the flexible services outlined, Goodwill also has available, on staff, professionals who provide assistive technology services when an individual might benefit from adaptive devices or special accommodations in order to work successfully at his/her full potential.

The Vocational Assessment staff work with individuals who are sponsored by the following agencies: Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission, Bureau of Worker's Compensation, County Boards of MRDD, and private insurance agencies.

If you wish to speak with us about how we might help you reach your vocational goals, or how you might obtain funding for our services, please feel free to contact Kelly Manns, Work Evaluation and Training Manager, at (513) 771-4800, or by E-mail at: kmanns@cincigoodwill.org
