Housing Assistance Project for Persons with Disabilities:
The Housing Assistance Project for Persons with Disabilities is a HUD-funded program for individuals who are both homeless and who have a disability. The primary purpose of the project is to help eligible individuals within Hamilton County to locate permanent housing.
The following services are provided under this project:
- An assessment to determine the individual's housing needs, preferences, and financial resources.
- Rental assistance for security deposits and first month's rent;
- Financial assistance for the purchase of furniture, emergency food, transportation, and clothing;
- Individualized training sessions on such topics as money and time management, community living, health care, problem-solving, home maintenance, home safety and nutrition.
- Assistance with identifying and contacting other needed community services.
