President's Message

Ohio Valley Goodwill has been proudly serving the Greater Cincinnati community for 96 years, providing skill training and employment assistance to thousands of individuals with disabilities as well as our nation’s veterans. In 2010, the organization served more than 2,600 people and helped more than 800 to get jobs. Goodwill is extremely grateful to our loyal donors and supporters that have enabled us to continue this mission of service since 1916.

While 2012 marks the celebration of our 96th anniversary of service, the past year served as a banner year for Ohio Valley Goodwill as the organization celebrated the Grand Opening of its new CARE (Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education) program in Westwood on the West side of Cincinnati as well as its new Eastside Work Center in Batavia. The new Eastside Center represents a precedent-setting collaborative agreement between both the Clermont and Hamilton County Boards of Developmental Disabilities to serve individuals who reside on the East side of Cincinnati.

Last year also marked the occasion for Ohio Valley Goodwill to be recognized as the “Agency Provider of the Year” by the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities as well as the “Rehabilitation Organization of the Year” by SWORA (the Southwest Ohio Rehabilitation Association). Goodwill is honored to be recognized by such esteemed organizations for the quality of our programs and services as well as staff team. In the New Year, Ohio Valley Goodwill looks forward to a continued record of excellence in serving men and women with disabilities and our nation’s military heroes, our veterans.

The end of last year also marked an important new partnership with Dell Reconnect and Goodwill in an initiative to promote the responsible recycling of computers. Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to be a partner in the Dell Reconnect program which will help thousands of donors to dispose of their outdated computers in an efficient and environmentally friendly way.

Ohio Valley Goodwill is grateful to the Greater Cincinnati community for its many years of support which has allowed us to serve thousands of individuals with disabilities as well as our nation’s veterans. Goodwill looks forward to continuing our important mission of putting people to work in the coming year.

Sincerely,
Joseph S. Byrum, President and CEO
